Global Simulation Game (GSG)

    Through the roles of Secretary General of the United Nations or a head of
a state, students cultivate new perspectives in order to grasp complex international situations

This is an original program, students simulate international diplomacy.
Each student is given a role of either the Secretary General of the United Nations, President of the
United States, President of the World Bank, Representative of a Refugee NGO, or a member of the press and mutually negotiates on variety of international issues. Through this, students are
able to cultivate new perspectives in order to grasp media strategies and complex international situations.

Moreover, students deepen their understanding of the historical and cultural knowledge behind international society through gaming, and they learn
to obtain the negotiation skill necessary for direct and indirect negotiation between people on international stage. Students submit a report at the end
of the class based upon what they have learned.
  Relay Lectures by Consul Generals
    Lectures are given by invited consul generals from around the Kansai area, related to the themes of diplomacy and international relations, providing students with an understanding of diplomatic and international relations
from a foreign diplomatic point of view.
 
Relay Lectures by Foreign Ministry Officers
    Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs are invited to lecture on
diplomacy and foreign affairs, the United Nations, etc, giving students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of current international issues.
 

Accelerated Learning and Graduate School Courses

    Students are encouraged to apply for admission to graduate school.
Students who are in their second semester of their third year and have
obtained excellent academic results are able to enroll in graduate courses.
In addition, it is possible for top students to enroll directly in graduate school upon finishing their third year, through the Accelerated Learning system. Finally, top students are able to complete a Master’s Degree with a fee equivalent to the tuition required for 4 years.
 

Internships

    Students are encouraged to take part in various internships with Japanese companies and international development organizations, NGOs, etc. Internships provide students with invaluable hands-on experience,
helping them to develop their studies as well as to prepare for future
careers.
 

Open Seminars

    A series of open seminars is one of the highlights of the academic year
in the
College of International Relations. During this event, students
showcase their knowledge of contemporary issues by giving presentations
in front of other faculty, invited businesspeople and colleague. They
employ a variety of techniques, including debate-style presentations
and video footage, or question-and-answer sessions. A function is also
held after each seminar to encourage informal exchange. It is during
these times that students take their first step toward finding future careers.
