College of Letters Philosophy and Ethics Major Overview
This major mainlyconducts research of ancient Greek philosophy, modernphilosophy,social philosophy after Hegel, phenomenology, existentialthought, andWest-European philosophy such as modern French thought. Wedeal withcontemporary issues including bioethics, ecological issues,issues onsocial norm. In addition, we offer courses of intensivereading ofbooks of philosophy in English, German, and French.This major ismaking effort to enable students to approach philosophicalissuesbased on each student’s motivation and to nurture their logicalandscientific thinking, which enables them to identify the natureofthings, through conducting researches. Philosophy research is tocallcommon sense into question and is a thrilling intellectualadventurewith a lot of discoveries and sensation. You will have a lotofinteresting experiences in this major.
