*Purpose of This Event:
This symposium is held in order to train our thoughts and techniques concerning the human rights of patients in the medical care of gender identity disorder. Why are patients prohibited from complaining? Of course, it should be natural that patients get angry. However, patients fail to express their anger very well. Why doesn't someone listen to the patients? What kind of structure is there?
YOSHINO Yugi, a graduate student at Ritsumeikan University, became a plaintiff and filed a lawsuit on medical error of gender identity disorder in spring 2007. It is said that strategies of trials make doctors retreat from the area of minor medical care by telling the severe working environment of doctors to patients who talk about their own needs. Gender identity disorder, minor medical care, has its structural problems.
If so, what do patients of this medical care cpnvey in its lawsuit? In places where a lawsuit on medical error, patients' rights and medical care of gender identity disorder interact, we will deepen the discussion by inviting the above-mentioned plaintiff, a defence counsil, moreover, knowledgeable persons of lawsuits on medical error and gender identity disorder.
