Starting in the year 2003, the GSIR drastically reformed its programs to meet changing needs of IR education. A key concept was obviously globalization. One of the new programs developed was the Global Cooperation Program (GCP). Fully taught in English, the GCP focuses on market and non-market approaches in working with post-Cold War North-South problems, providing a broad interdisciplinary perspective for international cooperation in the areas of Macro, Micro, and Development Economic theory. The following areas are examined: |
-
Major actors in the area of international development, such as international organizations, donor & recipient governments, multinational corporations and NGOs
-
Broader international contexts through examining the history of global governance and North-South relations
-
Resolving security problems as an indispensable precondition for development
-
Other closely related issues such as gender, social development and the preservation of the environment

The GCP enables students to participate in discussions with fellow students
from all over the world, allowing them to deepen their international understanding
on a daily basis. It also seeks to promote networking while training young
leaders who will lead the world stage in the field of global cooperation. |
