To participate in the Ritsumeikan University School
of Law's Externship Program, final year law school students
first submit a request for apprenticeship to organizations
including law firms, corporate legal departments, and
local governments. Students observe and assist the work
at each organization for about 2 weeks (10 weekdays).
Prior to the externship, trainees attend orientation,
apply for an apprenticeshi, and consult with the organizations.
After finishing the program and submitting a report,
before they are awarded 2 units of credits.
Students are required to take either the Legal Clinic
Program or the Externship Program held within the School
of Law.
