Olga Keiko MENDOZA SHIMADA4th year of the doctoral program, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Ritsumeikan University
Brief SummaryI made my poster presentation on earthen architecture heritage located in the seismic zones like Peru and Japan at an ICOMOS international expert meeting held at Valencia Univ. in Spain, then collected information on world heritage at ICOMOS in Paris.. I also collected information on heritage risk management at ICCROM library in Rome, then made my oral presentation on disaster recovery of historic urban landscape in Peru and Japan at another ICOMOS international meeting in Firenze, Italy. Through these academic activities, I tried my best to formulate my scientific network with experts in those organizations.
Adding to my academic presentations at Spain and Italy as written above, I made other several research activities; 1) world heritage nomination documents at ICOMOS, Paris, 2) information collection at ICCROM library, and 3) a field survey at world heritage Assisi affected by the earthquake in 1997. As the result of these research, I found a part of systems on heritage conservation and disaster risk management of Historic Urban Landscape in western Europe. I understand these results will become a scientific contribution to R-GIRO, through reflecting them into the contents of my doctoral thesis on this theme.
