An initiative to explore cutting-edge robotic technologies was started by Ritsumeikan University more than 20 years ago. Interactions with people from different spheres of society and industry help upgrade the quality level of robotic researches. At this center, we are committed to facilitating the application process for applicants to obtain grants for subject specific research projects and subsidized public research projects, as well as conducting collaborative, contract-based and other researches in cooperation with industry and government. We place importance on promoting cooperation among industry, government, and academic institutions, communicating with people and reacting in a fast and flexible manner by way of, for example, distribution of information about the researches presented at academic conferences, hosting lectures by the researchers from inside and outside Japan, who are internationally acclaimed, interactions with overseas businesses and research institutions on research matters, and offering individual consultation service to businesses, among others.
