Admissions

Admission Requirements

To be eligible to enroll in the RSJP or RWJP, applicants must meet the following requirements:

 

  1. Applicant must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or graduate student at the commencement of the program.
  2. Have the ability to communicate in English OR be able to communicate in basic Japanese.
  3. Are encouraged to study hiragana and katakana before commencement of the program.

Application Procedures

1.Download the Application Form (see below for application forms)


2. Fill out and send in the appropriate application form to Ritsumeikan at the address stated below along with the following documents:

 

  1. Original certificate of enrollment from the institution you are presently attending.
  2. Most recent original academic transcript from the institution you are presently attending.
  3. Photocopy of the pages of your passport indicating the passport number and period of validity.
  4. Two photographs (3cm X 4cm) with your name written on the back.

 

NOTE:

  1. All applications must arrive by the deadline. See the Program Schedule for the appropriate deadlines.
  2. Your passport must be valid for the duration of RSJP/RWJP. If you do not already have your passport, please begin the application process immediately.
  3. The application period will be closed early in the case that the maximum number of participants is reached before the application deadline.

4. The International Center will inform applicants by e-mail upon receiving their applications and will send out the next application steps and instruction guides regarding program fees and payment methods at this time.

 

5. After we confirm that the payment has been received, we will inform you by e-mail that the application process has been completed.

 

6. Once you are accepted into the program, please book a flight to Japan arriving at Kansai International Airport (KIX) before the instructed arrival date indicated in the Program Schedule.


  It is strongly recommend that all participants enroll in international travelers insurance before their departure to Japan.

Application forms for the below programs will be posted in early January 2012.
