This will be a great opportunity to learn more about Global Studies Major and ask your questions to RU staff directly. We look forward to meeting with many students there!

Professor Ishihara joined the United Nations in 1986, and served in various positions including information officer of the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia and peacekeeping financing officer at UN headquarters in New York. He has served as professor in the College of International Relations at Ritsumeikan University since 2005.

I worked for the United Nations for 18 years. Being a staff member of the U.N. is really a unique and rewarding professional experience that you can not have anywhere else. At the U.N. you work with people from all over the world with diverse cultural backgrounds to achieve a common goal of building a better world. Through my classes here at Ritsumeikan University I aim to help and encourage many young students to take on this challenge.
