

All students at Ritsumeikan are highly encouraged to study abroad.
Every year over 200 students from the College of International Relations go abroad with a wide variety of study abroad programs.
In this program, while registered at Ritsumeikan University, students study in university in the U.S. for two years, and can obtain a degree in both universities in just four years. We have programs with American University, whose School of International Studies is one of the highest ranked in its field in the U.S., and with Suffolk University which is only available to students in the College of International Relations.
This advanced one-year program focusing on global citizenship aims to create global leaders by exploring global issues, such as environmental problems and peace building, and seeking the path to their solutions, all while living in Canada.
In exchange programs, students can study abroad for one academic year (or one semester) at a partner university abroad. Students will enroll in an undergraduate course together with local students, and take regular courses in specialized fields. Up to 60 credits obtained at the partner university can be approved.
By offering courses at a university abroad based on a specific theme, this program offers the chance to gain advanced language ability and learning skills. Courses make the most of unique characteristics of the host country/university.
