School that develop those who create new value and contribute to the future

The Ritsumeikan Trust offers a comprehensive education from primary school through to graduate school, aiming to foster learning and the development of the talents of the individual in order to nurture just and ethical global citizens. Taking full advantage of relocation of our campus in Nagaokakyo, where we can have high ideals and big dreams, we aim to complete students’ education at an even higher level.

Consistent education

We take maximum advantage as a member of an integrated educational academy. We facilitate coordination between university colleges and secondary schools and build high quality educational environments so that students can work hard to improve their talents, knowledge and skills.
Ritsumeikan Junior and Senior High Schools are developing education which connects with Ritsumeikan Elementary School to raise students’ academic ability by using a consistent education model for 12 years, focusing on rich humanity, independence and contribution to society.

We separate our curriculum into four year blocks to foster the ability and willingness to learn independently, the first stage is from the first grade in elementary school to the fourth grade and from the fifth grade in elementary school to the 8th grade in Junior High School for the second stage, and from the 9th grade in junior high school to the twelfth grade in senior High School for the third stage. In the six years of a junior high school and senior high school, we regard the seventh and eighth grade as the later period of second stage, ninth and tenth grade as the prior period of third stage, and the eleventh and twelfth grade as the later period of third stage, setting an attainment target and developing distinctive activity.

Individuals who are opened to the world, leading the future

The Ritsumeikan Junior High School and Senior High School introduced a new curriculum from the 2013 fiscal year. Practicing the educational vision rooted in all-round education the tradition of this school, a new curriculum, "Connecting to society" and "considering a global view" has been implemented. With this global viewpoint, Ritsumeikan aims to raise talented people to use their abilities to usher in a new era. In the later period of the third stage, the deployment of the 4 courses with a focus on the future has seen initiatives, such as the “research Project” for CE, SS, and GL course students, as well as science based and literature based courses for MS students, established with to raise students with great aspirations to contribute to the global society of the future.
