There are eight different science zones. Participants will be divided into groups. Each group will be given an assignment on which to work together.

Dome Co., Ltd.
Dome Co.,Ltd. is the only racing car constructor in Japan. They develop not only racing cars but also a variety of cars upon request. They have been involved in design, planning, testing, and racing activities. Moreover, they have been doing research on aerodynamics using 50% scale wind tunnel experiment facilities and also developing carbon composites which are necessary for developing racing cars. When we pay a visit to the company, the engineers will give us lectures on company history, the beauty of making cars, and techniques of aerodynamics, and carbon composite development. We will also see the automobile museum.

Gekkeikan Sake Co., Ltd.
Gekkeikan has been making and selling sake ever since our foundation in 1637 in Fushimi, a district of Japan's former capital of Kyoto. Adopting the corporate concept of “Aiming for health, researching and developing sake, and creating refreshment” we at Gekkeikan are committed to our core business: the enlightenment of Japanese rice wine as well as business in other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, overseas business, as well as seeking new business fields. On your visit, we will introduce our research achievements, in which we have succeeded through researching and developing sake, and creating refreshment. We would like you to experience the wonderful world of brewing rice wine using the fermentation technology developed in Japan through long years of experience.

GS Yuasa Corporation
GS Yuasa was founded by Japan Storage Battery Co., Ltd. and Yuasa Corporation which have more than 100 years of history as top pioneering manufacturers of batteries.
When we visit, researchers will give us lectures on environmentally-friendly automobiles. We will also observe Lithium-ion Battery for EVs and other products.

KYOCERA Corporation
This company was first founded as “Kyoto Ceramic Corporation” which dealt with fine ceramics in Kyoto. It has produced not only semiconductor parts and fine ceramics, but also communications equipment, printing machines and solar electronic systems. We will visit its home office in Kyoto and have an opportunity to listen to a presentation about fine ceramics and synthetic jewelry and explore a fine ceramic museum and gallery.

NEC SCHOTT Components Corporation
This company (NSC) is a joint venture company between NEC in Japan and SCHOTT which is the manufacturer of special glasses in Germany. We are developing, manufacturing and selling reliable special electronic components such as Glass to metal seals(GTMS) and Thermal Fuses(TF) for world customers. Our headcount is only 200,but NSC has the goal to take a top share in the markets where we have entered. We hope we will become ”A hidden world-class champion”.

Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd.
Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd is a food company founded by Ando Momofuku (graduated from Ritsumeikan University) who invented the world’s first instant ramen noodles “ Chicken Ramen” in 1958, and the world’s first cup noodles “ Cup Noodle” in 1971. On our visit to “The Instant Ramen Invention Memorial Hall” (in Ikeda City, Osaka) we’ll be looking at the history of instant ramen noodles and the new food culture they created. In doing so, we hope to learn the importance of invention and discovery.

Panasonic Corporation
Panasonic is a worldwide leader in the development and manufacture of electronic products and pursues the management objectives of realizing a ubiquitous networking society and coexisting with the global environment through cutting-edge technologies. During our visit, we will first listen to some of the difficulties encountered by Panasonic researchers in their cutting-edge research and development. Then we will experience the company’s latest products and environmental efforts. After making our own “eco declaration”, we will end the visit with a commemorative photo shoot.

SANYO Electric Co.,Ltd.
SANYO is a leading provider of Environment- and Energy-related products which has been actively involved in research on solar energy. We will visit Sanyo Solar Ark located in Gifu. It is shaped like a gigantic pontoon which is about to set sail for our future; a symbol of solar plant energy. The facility is 315 meters long and its front side is covered with 5046 solar panels. Visitors will tour a Solar Energy Museum located in the Ark.
