| For your safety and general well-being, we strongly encourage that all principals, teachers and student participants purchase
their own insurance for their duration of stay in Japan. |

| Accommodation |
| During the ISSF guests will be staying at EPOCH Ritsumei 21 (a hotel at BKC), or a nearby hotel. Both teachers and students
from each school will be staying at the same location. The place you stay at will be arranged depending on the number and the schedule of each school participants and you will be informed about a week before your arrival. |

| Teachers |
| Teachers are staying at either EPOCH Ritsumei 21 or a hotel nearby. Wherever possible we ensure all teachers are provided
with twin bed rooms with an en-suite bathroom, TV and tea making facilities. These rooms are segregated from the students’rooms. Towels will be provided along with regular toiletries for all teachers rooms. You may have to share the rooms with other teachers. |

| Students |
| Students are staying at either EPOCH Ritsumei 21 or a hotel nearby. The hotel near the BKC site will have twin/three bed
rooms. Students staying at Epoch Ritsumei 21 will be in bunkbed rooms catering to four or eight people (all bedding will be provided). There are communal showers/toilets. The students will have access to a lounge room containing a TV and cup noodle/drink vending machines and tea making facilities. Please note: Students who stay at EPOCH Ritsumei 21 must bring a towel. | ■Free washing machines and dryers. Detergent can be purchased at a campus shop. |
| ■There is one pay phone on the university site, none in the Epoch accommodation. Because of the lack of phones it will be difficult to make international calls so we recommend students contact home via email. |
| ■There is one convenience store at the BKC campus and two cafeterias for student use. The nearest shop off site is a 10 minutes walk. |
| ■To travel to Kyoto you need to catch a 15 minute bus to the nearest train station (Minami Kusatsu, 220yen) followed by a 20 minute train journey to Kyoto central station (320yen).→Guide to Ritsumeikan BKC |

| Internet Connection/Electricity |
|
| ■There will be certain number of computers available within the BKC campus from 8am until late evening. |
| ■All laptops to be brought must have an accompanying connecting LAN cable. Wherever you stay you are able to have the Internet connection. |
| ■Participants should have their own transformers for personal electrical appliances. Japanese voltage is 100 volts. You will need to bring your own electric adapter suitable for use in Japan (two pin) |

| Weather conditions |
| Late October is a good time to visit Kyoto as the climate is fairly settled (not too hot or too cold). The average temperatures for
this time are highs of 20-22°C and lows of 10-13°C. Although the average rainfall for this time is quite low it is recommended that students are prepared for rain, either with a light coat or umbrella. |
