A research assistant, Dr. Atsuki Fukutani who collaborated with a graduate student, Jun Misaki and Prof. Tadao Isaka published an original article in PLoS ONE. This study confirmed that force enhancement by stretch- shortening cycle would be caused by preactivation and residual force enhancement induced by active stretch. By elucidating the mechanism of force enhancement by stretch-shortening cycle, a better strategy for improving sport performances can be established.
