Class Cancellation Policy (Storm Warnings)

In the event that public transportation is interrupted due to typhoon or other causes

1.Classes at BKC will be cancelled in any of the following cases.
  • a)When a storm warning (bofu keiho) is in effect in Kusatsu city or southern Ohmi District.
  • b)When JR West line is suspended between Kyoto and Maibara.
  • c)The Ohmi Railway Bus service is suspended between Minami Kusatsu Sta. and BKC.
2.If the storm warning is lifted or if public transportation resumes operations, classes will be held as per the following rules:
  • a)If the warning is lifted or transportation services resume by 6:30 (or by 7:30 in the case where only the Ohmi Railway Bus service had been suspended), classes will start from 1st Period.
  • b)If the warning is lifted or public transportation resumes by 10:00 (or by 11:30 in the case where only the Ohmi Railway Bus service had been suspended), classes will be held from 3rd Period.
  • c)If the warning is lifted or public transportation resumes by 12:00 (or by 13:30 in the case where only the Ohmi Railway Bus service had been suspended), classes will be held from 4th Period.
  • d)If the warning is lifted or public transportation resumes by 15:00 (or by 16:30 in the case where only the Ohmi Railway Bus service had been suspended), classes will be held from 6th Period.
  • e)If the warning is not lifted or public transportation does not resume by 15:00 (or by 16:30 in the case where only Ohmi Railway Bus services had been suspended), all classes will be cancelled for the day.

In principle, these class cancellation rules as stipulated above shall apply to semester-end examinations.
