The third cohort of RU Home Students join an academic guidance session and campus tour

Fall semester classes at all of Ritsumeikan University’s campuses kicked off on Monday, September 28. Some in-person classes have been resumed this fall with sufficient measures to prevent infection of COVD-19.

Along with the start, JDP organized an academic guidance session and campus tour for the third cohort of RU Home Students.

As on-campus activities had been restricted due to the spread of the virus, it was a good opportunity for the students to see each other on campus for the first time in a long time.

On Monday, September 23, the academic guidance session was held to provide updates on initiatives at the University in preparation for the fall semester, course registration for the fall, as well as preparation before going to American University.

At the same time, the students had academic advising with their academic advisor (a faculty member from Ritsumeikan University). They met with their advisors one-on-one and planned their course-taking for the fall.

During the campus tour on Thursday, October 1, they first visited facilities inside the College of International Relations, including "IR Laboratory", a study hall for IR College students. Then they joined a tour guided by a College student inside the Hirai Kaichiro Memorial Library.

These events helped the students not only know the Universiy's international learning environments, but deepen their friendship with smiling faces. It was good to see them using these facilities right after the tours.

We are planning various student programs such as exchanges across cohorts while implementing measures to ensure the safety and peace of mind of our students.
