CALLL (Computer Assisted Language Learning Laboratory) System

The CALLL System at Ritsumeikan BKC was first installed in March 1998 and has been used for the foreign language education focusing on English as a Foreign Language. There are 10 CALLLs which consist of 42 Hictachi computers with Hitachi monitors and Windows 2000 Professional or Linux OS, 22 sharable display monitors, 42 IC recorders, 1-3 Laser printers, 1 Fujitsu room/local server. In some CALLLs have distance education systems to connect all Rits academy facilities in Japan. In the spring of 2006 major replacements of the hardware and the upgrading of software was done. In the spring of 2007 all the OSs would be Windows XP.
