MOT English Doctoral program admission for Fall 2020: Application has begun!

Application period for Fall 2020 enrollment has started from 22nd April 2020.

Regarding the emergency declaration for COVID-19, the Administrative office for Graduate School of Technology Management in Ritsumeikan University will close until 6th May 2020.  

Please send your all document by postal mail. 

The deadline of this application is 13th May 2020.

Notice of Office closure during new year holidays

Please be advised that the administrative office, Graduate School of Technology Management will be closed the following dates for the new year holidays:

Osaka Ibaraki Campus

CLOSED: from Thursday, 26th December 2019 to Sunday, 5th January 2020.


Osaka Umeda Campus

CLOSED: from Saturday, 28th December 2019 to Sunday, 5th January 2020.


Both Osaka Ibaraki Campus and Osaka Umeda Campus will resume work on Monday, 6th January 2020.

Mr. Ricky Christian, a Ph.D. student of Graduate School of Technology Management, is going to present at rice ball seminar at OIC.

Christian Ricky is a PhD student of Graduate School of Technology Management, Ritsumeikan University, and it’s his first semester of second year studying at our program under Professor Yasuo Kadono's supervision.

He is going to give a presentation on the topic of "Beyond the Integration of Toyota Production System (TPS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)" in the Rice Ball Seminar to be held on Nobermber 27th from 12:20.

Topic Title: Beyond the Integration of Toyota Production System (TPS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)"

Abstract of presentation: The research presentation will discuss and introduce a topic regarding TPS philosophy and ERP system. ERP is a top-down approach which originated from the management view to the shop floor, and the TPS is a bottom-up approach which observed from the shop floor. Nevertheless, the discussion will describe the integration of both methods based on cases in Japan-Indonesia Automotive companies..

A PhD Student of the MOT program has joined the Visiting Scholar Program at Haas Business School of UCB

October 17,2018

Ding Weixu is a PhD student of Graduate School of Technology Management, Ritsumeikan University, and it’s his first semester of third year studying at our program.

He has been selected as a visiting scholar at Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley, and he flew to the U.S last week, on 11th October. 

His research field is intellectual leadership, Knowledge Management,Organizational behavior, and he is currently conducting research under the supervision of David J. Teece.

2018 Fall Orientation for a New PhD Student



    Fall Orientation: Starting PhD Research Journey at MOT Doctoral Program

A new PhD student from Thailand has entered our MOT doctoral program as a MEXT schoalrship recipient in the Fall semester of 2018. Our doctoral program welcomed him at an orientation sesstion held at the Building A of OIC campus on September 21, 2018.

The session started out with a greeting message from Dean of the Faculty of Technology Mangement, Takashi Natori (picture at left) and Vice Dean, Kota Kodama (picture at right).
They gave a brief introduction of Graduate School of Technology Management and ways to maximize research life here by talking about some of the researcher’s challenges throughout the PhD process.


Moreover, the seniors of our program also joined the session to support a new student and shared their exeriences and knowledge as PhD candidates.

They are in the midest of writing their doctoral disserations. Learning from them about their PhD processes motivated a new student and enrouaged him to start his PhD journey here at Ritsumeikan University.
