2012: Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia
2017: Ph.D. Candidate, Graduate School of Technology Management, Ritsumeikan University, Japan
Why did you choose Ritsumeikan MOT for pursuing your Ph.D.?
I was
the employee of the Japanese automotive company in Indonesia before joining the
Ritsumeikan MOT Ph.D. program. In my experience and through working and
collaboration with the Japanese people, I learn the Japanese culture and the
passion for being better every day. I am curious about Japanese culture, and I
eager to learn more in-depth. Once upon a time, I went to an event held by the
Japanese embassy in Indonesia, in which I met and discussed with the
Ritsumeikan University representative. In the journey, I investigated the
Ritsumeikan University program that is compatible with my experience and
interest. In summary, I found the MOT program fits with my concentration, and I
accepted in the program.
Tell us about your research project.
My
research based on the Lean Production (Toyota Production System) and Enterprise
Resource Planning (ERP) that impact the performance. Through the study and
opportunities that have been given to me, I have a chance to investigate the
e-Kanban system. The e-Kanban is one of the tools to integrate the Lean
Production approach based on pull production and can be combined with ERP,
which is the push production. The combination creates a push-pull production
system, which is a fascinating approach in the production system.
What do you think about advantages studying in Ritsumeikan MOT?
Studying
at Ritsumeikan MOT give me the chance to meet experts in research. I learn the
research ethics and the proper way to do the research. Ritsumeikan also gives
me opportunities to meet several people that are very important in my research.
Furthermore, I am pleased with the enthusiasm of the university, which
establishes a strong international education environment.
