Program Report: Academic Writing Program Fall 2018

Academic Writing Program Fall 2018 was held during the period between Friday, Oct 19 2018 and Friday, Jan 11 2019 at Kinugasa Campus (KIC), Biwako-Kusatsu Campus (BKC) and Osaka Ibaraki Campus (OIC).


This course is designed to help graduate students acquire the fundamental academic writing skills needed to complete academic papers.

 

At OIC, participants attended lectures once a week for eight weeks at, and at KIC and BKC, participants attended a two-day intensive course (four sessions per day/ eight sessions in total).


The total of 68 students studied in the program and most of the participants enjoyed the program very much. Some said, “I think this kind of class should be held regularly.”

Session 4:Paraphrasing, Quoting, and Referencing

Session 5:Components of a Research Paper

Session 8Writing the Abstract / Revising and Editing
