One Year Program for 1997

International Undergraduate Student Admission for 1997

1. Qualification for Application

Applicants must be non-Japanese and have completed 12 years

of schooling outside of Japan, or who are approved by

Ritsumeikan University to possess equivalent scholastic abilities.

Applicants must possess sufficient Japanese language skills to

attend and understand lectures given in Japanese.

2. Examinations

(I) Colleges of Law, Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Policy Science, and Letter:

Written Examination:

Japanese (including listening comprehension).

English.

Interview.

(2) College of International Relations:
Written Examination:

Japanese (including listening comprehension).

English.

Essay in English, German, French, Chinese, Spanish, Russian,

Korean, or Japanese.

Interview.

(3) College of Science and Engineering:
Written Examination:

Japanese (including listening comprehension).

English.

Mathematics.

Interview.

(4) Date of Examination in Kyoto and Tokyo: November 9, 1996.

(5) Date of Interview in Kyoto: January 25, 1997.

3. Selection Procedure and Notification

Candidates are selected based on the results of (I) application

materials submitted (including Written Examination papers), (2)

General Examination for Foreigners, Level One of the Japanese

Language Proficiency Test, and (3) Interview in Kyoto.
