This  Center was  established  by the  MEXT  21st  Century COE Program on
June, 2003. We are searching for 21st Century medicines, ideal human health
care, and understanding the means of life by using synchrotron light.
Therfore, we are developing novel instruments, namely the portable synchrotrons
named MIRRORCLE, emitting brilliant far-infrared radiation (FIR), and hard X-ray
   radiation.

Since MIRRORCLE is the only one facility, of this type, in the world, the ,
Synchrotron Light Life Science Center is unique amongst the other COE.
This Center consists of two laboratories which work on improvement of the FIR
source MIRRORCLE-20 and on the development of MIRRORCLE-6X. We also
have an analyzer of 600 MHz NMR.
Our center is linked to the graduated course in the Departments of Photonics,
Bioscience and Technology, and the Faculty of Information.

You will see a fusion of biology, chemistry, medicine, physics, and technology
    in this Center.
