After 3 years and a half at the “Technische Universität München”

At a time of my high school days I yearned to civil engineering vaguely, and entered into the Kyoto university in April of 1980. Feeling that the territory of traffic is one of the work which never disappears in the future, though the studying subjects were quite identical with those at civil engineering department, I selected the transportation engineering department.

After the liberal education level, from halfway of the specialized course, which means from 7th  semester, I was assigned in a laboratory to write my thesis. I chose the engineering works operation laboratory. Relatively in a university, it was the laboratory where practical research theme is handled. Simultaneously under the teacher of mechanical course graduate, I came to the point of cultivating the eye which is not restricted by a framework of subject.

As for my research, mechanical mixing type soil improvement became theme. It is trust research of a comprehensive manufacturer which centres iron manufacture. In the research regarding the interpretation method of the monitoring data at the time of machine operation, interaction of machine and earth became my special territory. After finishing to write my thesis, “ Study on the estimation of soil strength by mixing blade – in case of sandy soil” and my master dissertation, “Study on the monitoring in deep mixing method”, in April of 1986 I jointed the company of research trust origin.

In the company, focusing on the elucidation of interrelationship of machine and earth, I considered about a new machine or a new operation method and picked it up, and proposed its way of development and introduction though the evaluation. Knowledge was obtained concerning computer, especially measurement and control technology. At the time of commodity planning, also economic idea and sensitivity for the market and social conception started being attached to my body. In addition with relationship such as European enterprise, I knew the foreign countries. And, I started feeling doubt to the Japanese society and the American economic idea.

Some interest to Europe was born under such circumstances. In quest of selection of carrying out nothing, the sensitivity which evaluates a good thing, and such a thing, I came to yearn after Europe vaguely. I raised my hand to a project with a German company, and I took part in it. While making such a talk with the teacher of the Kyoto University era, and the senior, I could know a professor at the Munich University of engineering each other.

The professor, although being architectural course, I held sympathy in a place where he is not restricted by a framework of subject. Receiving cooperation in the cover, from September of 2000 I obtained my status in the “Technische Universität München”, at the faculty of architecture.

I held a research image, not to adhere to an interaction of machine and earth, but to examine an improvement step of work putting human the centre of operation. Approximately 14 years and a half the company which I served retired.

Through automation and improvement of efficiency of construction, the ideal way for worker and the method of relating with object was designated as theme of my research. Future type operation control, “future cockpit”. I studied the method that a person participating in job feels well, through the management of building facilities, an external wall cleaning robot of a high rise building, and some other theme which were operated at the laboratory such as improvement of efficiency in residential construction. Concerning robot technology, remote manipulation technology, virtual reality technology and communication technology et cetera I expands the interchange large inside the university, in addition I increased the knowledge through participation in affiliated academic societies.

In my research and life, I could also feel the European attitude. I felt Europe respective countries without being one binding. The Japanese society and the Japanese were visible simultaneously. In the world the various people, words, cultures, histories, methods of thinking, and natures, I could see more than at least that when I was in Japan.

The senior of the Kyoto university era, pays attention to food problem, and has been about probably to cause the movement. It is a project in which the technology of construction, which lost its demand before, is applied. I sympathized. I considered also the shortage of my own role in Europe. The European atmosphere even now is better for me than that in Japan. But thinking of a place where my role is carried out, I decided moving my place of research to Japan from April of 2004. First I will try to bear an assistance for Japan, it is my home country.

Sometime later I would like to return to Europe. At that time in order neither to research nor to bear an assistance, but to receive the European nature simply and to pass the time that flows slowly.

My first passage was a participation to an academic society which is held in May of 1988 in Ottawa. In August of next year to another academic society in Rio de Janeiro. After that there is no passage for a while. About 5 years later in the Asian region I went to market survey to several countries. Furthermore 5 years from the time of  a joint project with German enterprise, some promotion and market survey to spread a new construction method, I obtained passage opportunities to European each country and the United States of America with such as visit to academic society and exhibition. In addition, privately, I experienced several overseas travels.

For proposing the joint project with the German enterprise, I visited Munich in September of 1998. It was my first German visit. After that and some visiting Munich, which are in November of the same year, September of the next year, March and May of 2000, I reside from September of the same year in Munich. During residence in Munich, mainly contiguity countries, I visited several countries. After my coming back to Japan, I have visited China.

*I have ever been to; Canada, Brazil, Indonesia, Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Turkey, Egypt, Saipan, US America, England, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Hungary, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Czech and China.
