I recommend that you try to find another windows device.
Depending on iOS, you can take ROJPT on Mac without trouble.
*If your PC is Mac, Please check your setting is not “Mute” but “Automatic”.

Q1: What is the ROJPT?
→A1: This test measures your Japanese level, so there is nothing special to prepare.
ROJPT is multiple-choices only, but this test is an important tool in helping us measure your Japanese ability.
These results will be used to decide Japanese class allocations, so please relax and take ROJPT.

Q2: How many questions and how long does the ROJPT take?
→A2: The ROJPT has two sections: "Kanji, Grammar, and Reading Comprehension" and "Listening Comprehension". And there will be a maximum of about 100 questions.
The test time for the "Kanji, Grammar, and Reading Comprehension" section varies depending on the level of the examiner, but it takes about 60 minutes to answer all the questions.  The "Listening Comprehension" section takes about 20 minutes.
The total time required, including the questionnaire section at the end, will take maximum 90 minutes, maybe shorter.

Q3: Can I take a long time to answer a question?
→A3: Each question has a time limit for answering. If a question cannot be answered within the time limit, it will automatically move on to the next question.

Q4: After I finished the first part of characters and grammar, I was automatically jumped to the questionnaire. The rest of the section was skipped.
→A4: That is no problem because the number of test questions changes according to your level.

Q5: I want to go back and answer previous questions.
→A5: You are unable to go back and redo previous questions.

Q6: The test stopped halfway through.
→A6: Please close all browsers and login again. You will be able to begin again from the question the test stopped at. You cannot redo the test from the beginning.

Q7: Is taking the test compulsory?
→A7: The results of the ROJPT are used to assign students to appropriate Japanese classes so all students, besides those who have never studied Japanese before or those with N1 of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test, are asked to take it.

Q8: I am unable to take the test during the test period.
I tried to take the exam, but the exam period had already passed.
→A8: Even if the exam period has ended, please take the exam as soon as possible. You will also receive a reminder notice from the office.
*If you do not take the exam, you may not be assigned to a Japanese class.
ROJPT system will be stopped on February 13th.

Q9: I would like to retake the test because I wasn’t able to show my skills fully or I happened to accidently guess a number of questions correctly.
→A9: The ROJPT can only be taken once. If, after classes begin, the professor judges that the class you were placed in does not suit your Japanese level, you will be placed in a different class.
