Ritsumeikan University 2012 Fall Entrance Ceremony

On September 25th Ritsumeikan University held The 2012 fall entrance ceremony at Suzaku campus and welcomed 133 new students(undergraduate students: 25, graduate students: 108) from a wide variety of countries and regions around the world.
Three Japanese undergraduates entered the Grobal Studies Major, which is a English based degree established in 2011 in the College of International Relations. This is the first time to have Japanese undergraduates in enter in the fall semester.

At the beginning of the ceremony, all attendants sang the school song in unison. Ritsumeikan University Chancellor Kiyofumi Kawaguchi spoke a congratulatory address and encouraged new students.
"I hope you will gain the followings; basic intellectual competency including encompassing the ability to identify problems, thinking logically, and appreciating the assertions and positions of others, literacy, culture, a field-specific technical knowledge, skills and experiences through positive leaning with international students and Japanese students. This will undoubtedly provide you with a network that will become a great asset to your future."

On behalf of undergraduates Chelsea Mckay Seekins (College of International Relations, Global Studies Major / USA) spoke the following;
"We would like to pursue our dream to the very end as we bloom into capable and confident global citizens through leaning at Ritsumeikan"
Lastly on behalf of graduated students, Nguyen Kien Quang (Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering / Vietnam) spoke the following;
"We will do our best in pursuing our goals with friends at Ritsumeikan"
