Biography

Masahiro
Fukui
received
the B.E., M.E., and Dr.Eng. degrees in electronic engineering, from
Faculty of Engineering, Osaka University, Suita, Osaka, in 1981,
1983, and 1999, respectively. He joined the Semiconductor Research
Center of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. in 1983. He was a
visiting industrial fellow at University of California at Berkeley
from 1989 to 1991. Since 2003, he has been a professor with the
Department of VLSI System Design, Ritsumeikan University, Kusatsu,
Japan. He has served as the Director of the Center for Super Human
Intelligent System, Ritsumeikan University, since 2004. His research
interests include electronics which contribute to the earth
environment -- e.g. lowpower, smart grids, mathematical optimization
of complicated systems. He is a
member of IEICE, IPSJ, IEEJ, JSAE, and IEEE.
