Opening Event for Global Environment Committee

On March 19th (Fri.) opening event for launching R2020 Ritsumeikan Global Environment Committee “~Make a Change in Ritsumeikan, Protect the Earth~” was held at Kinugasa Campus. The purpose of the event was to highlight what faculty and staff members could do in tackling the environmental issue at Ritumeikan Environment Committee launched on February 1, 2010.

Mar. 18th, 2010:

Academic Scientific Technology Symposium

On March 18th (Thurs.) Academy Vision R2020, the New Mid-term Plan
“The New Mid-term Plan the 4th Committee Academic Scientific Technology Symposium” was held at Ritsumeikan University Biwako Kusatsu Campus, Kinugasa Campus and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University. At the symposium Mr. Koichi Kitazawa (Executive Director of Independent Administrative Institution, Japan Science Technology Agency (JST) delivered a keynote speech with the theme of “Future Step of University Research Policy of Japanese Scientific Technology?Achievements over the last 15 years and Challenge?“ followed by panel discussion with faculty and staff members of Ritsumeikan.

Mar. 15th, 2010:

Table Discussions with Students

On March 15 (Mon.) at 17:30 at Ritsumeikan University Kinugasa Campus and Biwako Kusatsu Campus (BKC) students group discussions were held linking Academy Vision R2020. The Mid-term Forum,“Learning at Ritsumeikan”. There were more than 50 participants of students and faculty and staff members from Kinugasa and BKC. Group discussions were held in direct terms on how students perceive “Learning at Ritsumeikan” inclusive of their opinions and requests for university.
This plan enabled faculty and staff members to grasp the actual reality of students in such a way that they are content with this part in “Learning at Ritsumeikan or that part they want a change or with such a style they learn which was all enlightening to deepen our future discussions.
Detailed information will be reported at a later date.

 

Feb. 26th, 2010:

Academy Vision, the New Mid-term Plan Forum

On February 26 (Fri.) at 17:30 Academy Vision R2020, the New Mid-term Plan Forum “Social Trends relating to Education, Research and Ritsumeikan” was held with approximate 60 faculty and staff members participating. The purpose of the forum to comprehend changes in social trends which are closely related to the activities of Ritsmeikan’s education and research, contribution to region and society at large, looking to pave the way for the discussions for 2020. As for the contents APU Vice Chancellor Honma delivered a lecture related to the social trends as a whole under the theme of “Social Trends Surrounding Ritsumeikan…Transition and Strategy”. Managing Director, College of Research Noguchi gave a lecture as titled “Change of Administration” “What will become of scientific technology, Direction of Research Conditions” which expatiated the flow of scientific technology, research policy and the concept of the newly established administration besides forecast of the future scenario.
After the lectures floor discussions were conducted and it deepened the forthcoming discussions.

Jan. 18th, 2010:

First Shot of Kick-Off Event Launched.

On January 15 (Fri.) at 17:00 Academy Vision 2020, the New Mid-term Plan Kick-Off Event”Creating Future Beyond Borders, Beyound Myself Creatj g Future was held. We intended to invite large number of participants it was launched with Ritsumeikan Kinugasa Campus, Biwako Kusatsu Campus and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific Univery, TV circuit connected. There were approximately 150 comprised student and faculty and staff members.
Dr. Takenori Inoki (Manager of International Research Center for Japnaese Studies) delivered a special lecture as titled “What is needed in future university” followed by panel discussions with faculty and staff members of Ritsumeikan and opinions were exchanged for “Realization of Student Centered Education”. We’d like to express our gratitude to all participants in the discussions.

Academy Vision R2020, the New-Mid Term Plan Kick-Off event

Proposal of the first draft of Academy Vision R2020 at the outset of discussion for the New Mid-term Plan, one of the approaches of participation by comprised members of Academy, several kick-off meetings are coming up for the purpose of communizing future Academy’s direction and issues.
The first shot “Academy Vision R2020 the New Mid-term kick-off even” is scheduled to be held on January 15th (Fri.)

Dec. 21th, 2009:

Application Period Extended for Opinions and Proposals for the 1st Draft of Academy Vision

After the proposal of the 1st draft of Academy Vision R2020, diversified opinions have been submitted through the participants of the Academy’s comprised members. In an attempt to collect more opinions and proposals application period is extended by January 31st.
We will put all the opinions and proposals together and open them to public on the site anonymously. We’d like to ask for your generous sharing of the opinions and proposals.

Dec. 19th, 2009:

Group Interview with Carrier Advisors and Graduates

On December 19th (Sat.) at 15:00 Group Interview with carrier advisors and graduate students was held at Ritsumeikan Tokyo Campus aiming to conduct hearings on various opinions, expectations and requests for university. 8 participants comprised of newly graduated this year and graduates being working actively as the backbone at the various business scenes assembled together and candid opinions, proposals and enthusiastic thoughts toward Ritsumeikan were shared. We’d like to express our deep gratitude to the participants. Detailed information will be reported at a later date.

Explanation to Standing Committee Members of Parent Support Team

On December 16th (Thurs.) at 18:30 Standing Committee of Parent Supporting Group was held, as the member of Academy Vision Workout Committee, the previous contents of the 1st draft of Academy Vision R2020 and detailed discussions were elucidated.

 

Dec. 12th, 2009:

Explanation to Organizers o Alumni Association of Ritsumeikan University

On December 12th (Sat.) in Tokyo APU Alumni Association Meeting was held. As one of the members of Academy Vision Workout Committee explanation was given to 20 organizers of Alumni Association of Ritsumeikan University and contents of the 1st draft of Academy Vision R2020 and previous discussions.

 

Dec. 7th, 2009:

R2020 All Co-op Cafeterias Project Launched

For a limited time only from December7th ~18th at each Co-op Cafeteria at RitsmeikanUniversity Kinugasa Camupus and Biwako Kusatsu Campus,”R2020All Co-op Cafeterias Project” has been launched.
As for the Project menu binding world and Japan together “Bi-color Grilled Chicken” (\315), new epoch “Chanko Udon”(\315) and future creating “Sta-don”(\399) are available. Please try it.

Explanation to Parent Executives in Ritsumeikan Uji Junior High School and High School

On November 25th (Wed.) at 18:00 as the member of Academy Vision Workout Committee and Office of General Planning participated in executive meeting at Ritsumeikan Uji Jinior High School and High School.
Explanation was given to approximately 15 parent executive members on the contents of the 1st draft of R2020 and previous discussions.

 

Nov. 24th, 2009:

Explanation to Carrier Advisors

On November 21st (Sat.) at 12:30 as the member of Office of General Planning participated in Carrier Advisor Meeting at Kinugasa Campus.
Explanation was given to approximately 120 carrier advisors on the contents of the 1st draft of R2020 and previous discussions.

Explanation to Standing Committee Members of PTA at Ritsumeikan Moriyama Junior High School and Highs School

On November 19 (Thurs.) at 19:00 as the member of Office of General Planning participated in PTA Standing Committee. Explanation was given to approximately 30 members on the contents of Academy Vision R2020 and previous discussions.

 

Nov. 19th, 2009:

Explanation to the Students of Students Government Board at Ritsumeikan University.

On November 17th (Tues.) at 17:00 as the member of Office of General Planning participated at the meeting at Kinugasa Campus and Biwako Kusatsu Campus with TV circuit connected. Explanation was given to approximately 30 students from Student Government Board, Student Council and the executive of each headquarter on the contents of the 1st draft and previous proceedings.
