Why did you choose Ritsumeikan MOT for pursuing your Ph.D.?
Although there are some universities offer English MOT programs in Tokyo, I rather chose Ritsumeikan MOT because I wanted to do research in a more focused and quiet research environment. Also, two of my friends, a researcher working in Ritsumeikan and another, Ph.D. student studying at other graduate school in Ritsumeikan currently, recommended Ritsumeikan to me. I was well informed from them regarding the superb research conditions at Ritsumeikan.
What do you think about advantages studying in Ritsumeikan MOT?
The significant merit resides in being tutored by supportive supervisors. Research seminar is provided twice per month, and personal supervision is also provided on weekly basis to support my research.
In every seminar, various research students with multinational backgrounds gather to debate and facilitate each other’s study. The environment is truly international, and this enables me not only to focus on my research also enrich my viewpoints.
Furthermore, Ritsumeikan has a rich variety of research supporting system. For example, there are financial support systems for students to join academic conferences in Japan or even in overseas. Also, there are administrative staffs who always give us prompt cooperation to solve the problem which is occurred when I use research database, library and other facilities in university.
