Most of the images on this site are details of photographs I have taken over the past few years. Some of the full images are in the gallery below.

These pictures have all been taken around Kyoto; as you can see I’m not very interested in taking ‘pictures of things’. What interests me more is trying to see (and show you) the little fragments of beauty that human beings make almost by mistake. If you look for these things, they’re all around. So, my photos are (I know) far from exciting but I hope they have a quiet appeal and a feeling of familiarity and intimacy.
