Christian joined Nature Communications in February 2019. He was a locum Associate Editor for Nature Methods, Nature Neuroscience, and Nature Biomedical Engineering before joining Nature Communications. After graduating in Biology from University of Osnabrück in Germany, he obtained his PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Göttingen in Germany studying the role of astrocytes for maintenance of respiratory rhythmic activity in the brain stem and neuron-glia interactions. He then moved to Cardiff University to work on modelling neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental diseases with stem cell-derived neurons, and their potential as cell replacement therapies in Huntington’s disease. Christian manages submissions in neurophysiology, neurotechnology and systems neuroscience. Christian is based in the London office.

Kristina joined Nature Reviews Methods Primers in August 2020. She completed her MEng and PhD at Imperial College London, where she investigated real-time deformation of semi-solid aluminium-copper alloys using synchrotron X-ray tomography. She continued on at Imperial College as a postdoctoral scientist imaging semi-solid steels before extending her work to solid oxide fuel cells. Kristina spent 3.5 years at Nature Communications handling manuscripts spanning all areas of structural materials science before moving to Nature Reviews Methods Primers, where she handles Primers in materials science and physics.
