The Faculty of Economics has provided great opportunities for students to learn English and other foreign languages. Since I have been in this university, there has been more diversification of students, staff and faculty members which is a good step toward exposing students to more viewpoints. Within that diversification, English plays a crucial role as a global language. Currently, more students are motivated to speak English which is a wonderful trend to see. In our curriculum, we are actively getting students to discuss more in English and being aware of social problems as students of economics. My hope is that students will use English to discuss more with international students from China, Nepal, or Brazil and see English as a global means of communication as well as link these experiences to find more sustainable solutions to some social issues.
