Dr. Otsuka Mitsuo is Assistant Professor in Faculty of Sport and Health Science of Ritsumeikan University, and his research manuscript was accepted and published in Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, which collaborated with Professor Tadao Isaka, and Graduated student Taisuke Kawahara. In this study focused on 100-m dash of sprinters, it was demonstrated that the step frequency and average sprinting velocity to the 50-m mark was significantly greater in the race than in speed training.  These findings suggest that sprinters achieve higher sprinting velocity and can run with higher exercise intensity and more rapid motion during a race than during speed training, even if speed training was performed at perceived high intensity.
