Activities on industry-academic collaborative PBL program from June 12th to 18th

Factory observation tour on June 12th

Visited Mitsubishi electric, OMRON Social Solutions and HIYOSHI Corporation.

Each company introduced their job descriptions while presenting their advanced technology and the subject on developing overseas project.

 



PBL workshop with RU students on June 13th

20 students (10 RU students and 10 IIT-H students) divided into 5 teams (a team consists of 2 RU students and 2 IIT-H students) and they set about PBL (Project Based Learning) respectively.



Fieldwork in Kyoto city on June 14th

Enjoyed fieldwork with RU students while visiting Fushimi-Inari shrine and Ikumatsu (Japanese traditional Inn) at Kami-Kiyamachi.



Lectures and Laboratory introduction from June 15th to 17th

Visited laboratories in College of Science and Engineering, Information Science and Engineering and Life Sciences and learned Japanese science and technology from various angles such as how the research contents concerns the social problems.

Special Lectures by Mr. Hidemi Takasu, Executive Director of Rohm Co.,Ltd. and Mr. Yutaka Tsukada, former IBM fellow were also delivered respectively.



Lecture of Japanese Language and Culture on June 16th

Learned Japanese greetings and basic Japanese language as a culture experience, enjoyed wearing Japanese traditional clothes. They looked so excited and had a lot of fun taking pictures.



Lecture of Indian and Japanese culture on June 18th

Indian instructor delivered a lecture about Japanese customs from Indian’s viewpoint and Japan–specific culture.

 

 

Final Presentation on June 18th

Each of 5 teams made the final presentation which shows the problems in India and their solutions based on the knowledge of Japan technology obtained through this PBL program and the workshop with RU students.

The themes of presentation are Transport, Disaster, Water, Energy and Healthcare.

Visitors from relevant companies were invited and they provided advises in accordance with their themes.
