The following programs offer a full support in English and
are suitable for students who are enrolled in GS, CRPS and ISSE.

Student Exchange Program

Program Overview

This program provides students with an opportunity to study abroad at one of RU's student exchange partner institutions for 1 semester or 1 academic year. The exchange program requires students to have fundamental academic knowledge in their specialized field and advanced foreign language skills that enable them to attend and follow regular undergraduate/graduate courses alongside local students. Students are expected to be flexible enough to adapt to foreign cultures as well as independent and self-motivated.

International PBL Program in ASEAN Countries

Program Overview

This is an education program focusing on “Project/Problem-Based Learning (PBL)” to develop flexible thinking in order to set tasks and propose appropriate solutions. This program looks to not only offer opportunities to study abroad for a semester at partner institutions in Thailand or Indonesia, but also to provide an integrated program that includes pre-departure preparations and post-completion studies, and features cooperative learning with Thai and Indonesian students at both Ritsumeikan and the host institutions.

Dual Undergraduate Degree Program (DUDP)

Program Overview

The Dual Undergraduate Degree Program (DUDP) allows students to obtain 2 bachelor degrees in as little as 4 years by spending 2 years at RU in Japan and 2 years at a host institution with credit transfers being mutually approved by each institution.

Host Institutions

  1. American University: Washington D.C., U.S.A.
  2. Suffolk University: Boston, U.S.A. (1st year students in the College of International Relations ONLY)
