For First-Time Users
- The Writing Support Room is a consultation service for undergraduate students seeking support in writing assignments and papers.
- You can consult with us about course report assignments on topics such as the following. These are common examples of consultation topics. We will respond as flexibly as possible depending on your needs.
- How to proceed with writing a report, such as general approaches to report writing and how to plan your schedule by working backward from the submission deadline
- How to read and understand the assignment instructions more deeply
- How to organize your ideas and create an outline
- How to check whether your writing style and expressions are appropriate for an academic report
- How to cite sources and write references
- Consultations are available in Japanese or English only.
- Only undergraduate students (including non-degree students) are eligible for consultations.

There are two types of tutoring sessions in English. Please choose the appropriate calendar according to your needs.

About APU: Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) is a sister university operated by the Ritsumeikan Trust. At the undergraduate level, roughly half of the students and faculty are international, and about half of the classes are offered in English. At the graduate level, all classes are conducted in English, and the tutors responsible for these sessions are graduate students who conduct their research in English.

About the two types of English tutoring
Both types cover the same consultation topics; the available schedules and modalities differ. - Consultations are generally by reservation. Please make a reservation through the Reservations page before visiting. Walk-in consultations are only accepted when there are openings, and reservations take priority.
※At the Writing Support Room, our support is aimed at enhancing students' independent writing abilities. Accordingly, we may not be able to accommodate certain types of requests depending on their nature.

Consultation Formats (One-on-One Dialogue-Based Support)
Based on the assignments you’ve written, you will have a one-on-one consultation with a tutor or staff member through dialogue.
