2025 Startup site Guide for New Students

The Student Government Board’s “Welcome Events Executive Committee” will hold various events to welcome you all after you enter Ritsumeikan.

Ritsumeikan University has a student self-governing organization called the Student Government Board (Student Council) which all students join upon entering the university. The Ritsumeikan University Student Council runs various forms of student led student support. (E.g. welcome events for new students, the school festival, support for Ritsumeikan clubs and circles, self-run activities aimed at improving student life, etc.)
Information about welcome events for new students help by the Student Council is available at the following dedicated website. (Scheduled to be updated from around mid-February 2025).

Ritsumeikan University has approximately 350 clubs and circle organizations for sport, culture and the arts, with welcome events for new students being an excellent opportunity to find out about these clubs and circles. Planned Student Council sponsored events include on-campus face-to-face club and circle recruiting booths and on-stage performances by club and circle groups.

For information on each club and circle, please check the “Circle Collection,” a booklet published by the Ritsumeikan University Student Council, or the Ritsumeikan University website under “Student Activities” in “Circles/Extracurricular Activities via the “Study Support Site for Current Students.”

*“Circle Collection,” published by the Ritsumeikan University Student Council, is distributed during orientation for new students, at the Office of Student Affairs Counter and via the Student Council’s “Circle Collection” racks located around campus including in the Student Center.
