Conference VenueIn the year 794, the Emperor Kammu founded a new city named “Heian-Kyo” - Capital of Peace. Ever since the Imperial seat remained in Kyoto for more than 1000 years. This history has left a legacy of tradition and elegance making Kyoto a living museum. Seventeen UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Sites are situated in a cityscape dominated by 2000 temples and shrines. The conference will be held at the Hotel Kyoto Garden Palace from November 15th (Sunday) to 19th (Thursday), 2009. The hotel is neighboring the old Imperial Palace and accessible in a short walk from the downtown of Kyoto. ![]()

Kansai International Airport (KIX) is the nearest one to Kyoto and is well connected to major airports in Europe, North America and Asia. The travel time from the airport to Kyoto is about 90 min by either train or car. By shared taxi (recommended):
You can book a shared taxi (JPY 3,500/person) on the Web. By railway:Express Haruka of the JR line directly links the airport to JR Kyoto station (Approx 90 min). You should change lines to the subway line at the station. The conference venue is within 10 min walk from the exit #2 of Marutamachi Station of the subway line. ![]()
