International Relations, Non-traditional Security Threats

Research Topic

My research interest is in the field of non-traditional security threats, particularly transnational organized crime with emphasis on drug trafficking. Through the examination of drug trafficking, my research intends to analyze securitization, the impact of drug trafficking organizations on the state, and the drug control policies. The main geographical area looked at is Latin America, but gradually expanding my research to South East Asian drug trafficking.
