Laboratory meeting/seminar (The Zemi)

The Zemi or laboratory meeting activity distinct into group meeting and individual meeting. The group meeting is where all laboratory members gather and discuss about research activities, schedules, laboratory operation and management and also group learning mainly focused on foundation structure, pre-stressed structure, precast construction method, etc. Individual meeting is when each laboratory member meets with supervisor professor to discuss about his or her research topics, progression, conferences, etc.
One of routine laboratory activity is participating a week—long construction management training at the Fuji Education and Training Center, for students who have interest in construction management. Other activities are joint seminar with Professor Fujii Laboratory at Tokai University for electrical resistivity measurement based quality control research. In addition, we carry out practical tours, disaster area surveys, and off-campus experiments.

Course

Concentration Level Change Class Course

In the class, we conduct a review questionnaire at the beginning of the lesson, impose a homework report at the end of the lesson and collect at the beginning of the next lesson. By performing these approaches, we will try to create a fair evaluation method.
In specialized major subjects, beside curriculum based lectures we are also trying to create an environment that allows experiential learning by bringing the lecture into current social needs.
