2022年11月11日、立命館大学びわこ・草津キャンパス・アクロスラウンジにて、The International Special Conference on the Regional Innovation and Cooperation in ASIA (RICA)の特別セミナー「COVID-19 Pandemic and Responses against It in Asian Countries」が開催されました。RICAは立命館大学、タイの国立開発行政研究院(NIDA)、韓国の釜学校、中国の曁南大学の４つの学術研究機関が協力し、毎年開催してきた国際学会ですが、コロナ禍により、今回は2年ぶりの対面開催となりました。

当日は韓国、タイ、中国、バングラディシュ、日本のコロナ禍における政策や地域経済への影響について、６つの興味深い発表が行われました。中国からの発表と参加はオンラインとなりましたが、会場に約50名、オンラインにて20名の参加者があり、活発で有意義な質疑応答と議論が繰り広げられました。

　今回は発表者が限定された特別セミナーでしたが、RICAは来年度、再び立命館大学にて、より大規模な国際学会を開催する予定です。

The International Special Conference on the Regional Innovation and Cooperation in ASIA (RICA) was held at BKC 

　On November 11, 2022, The International Special Conference on Regional Innovation and Cooperation in ASIA (RICA) was held at Across Lounge, Biwako Kusatsu Campus. RICA is a collaboration of four academic research institutions: Ritsumeikan University, National Institute for Development Administration (NIDA) of Thailand, Pusan National University of Korea, and Jinan University of China. Due to the Corona disaster, the conference was held face-to-face for the first time after a two-year break.

　Six interesting presentations were given on the impact of the corona disaster on policies and local economies in Korea, Thailand, China, Bangladesh, and Japan. The presentation and participation from China were online, but there were about 50 participants in the room and 20 online, and Q&A session and discussion were quite active and fruitful.

　Although this special conference had a limited number of presenters, RICA plans to hold a larger international conference at Ritsumeikan University next year.
