World Week Day 5

ワールドウィーク最終日。各クラスで企画した「お別れ会」では、一緒に遊んだりゲームをしたりして、最後の時間を過ごしました。その後、体育館に全校児童が集まり、「全校お別れ会」を行いました。文化交流会では、中国・カンボジア・ミャンマーのダンス、日本の和太鼓演奏を披露してもらい、皆で手拍子をして盛り上がりました。最後は「Together」の大合唱。体育館いっぱいに素敵な歌声が響きました。一週間を振り返る写真や映像も流れ、涙のお別れとなりました。あっという間の一週間、様々な文化に触れることができました。

 

The final day of World Week was bittersweet. Students met with their World Week Guest Teachers for the final time to day goodbye. Throughout the school, students played and laughed with their guest teachers as they exchanged hand made gifts and heart warming messages. Afterward, everyone assembled in the gym for the Farewell Ceremony. Guest teachers from Cambodia, Myanmar and China showcased dances from their home countries. The performances ended with a rousing Taiko performance that brought everyone to their feet. The entire schooled joined voices to sing a beautiful, bilingual version of “Together”. We ended the ceremony with a short video that captured many special moments between World Week teachers and their classes throughout the week. World Week felt like it ended in a flash, but the memories we made together will not be forgotten.
