World Week Day 1: Let’s Begin!

World Week is here! Many students have been excitedly waiting for this event after summer vacation and the first day did not disappoint. As the 26 World Week guest teachers entered the gym, many students eagerly peered over their friends to finally catch a glimpse of the teacher they had seen in pictures and whose name they had memorized. Seeing the smiling face of their World Week teacher and hearing their voice, in person, for the first time was special moment for the students.

 

Everyone spent the first few classes learning about their World Week teacher and the country they came from. World Week Teachers shared their likes and dislikes, their family, their hobbies and more. Students were introduced to the food, festivals, beautiful sites and interesting features of their countries. In English classes 1st graders happily asked and answered questions as they exchanged meishi cards with new teachers from many different countries. 3rd grade students also did their best to give the guest teachers a school tour they'd never forget, collecting stamps and showing the classrooms and spaces the teachers would need during World Week. We can’t wait for Day 2!

 

夏休み明けから心待ちにしていたWorld Weekが開幕しました。17か国から訪れた26名のゲストティーチャーとの初対面に、児童たちは胸を躍らせました。出身国の文化や暮らしについて楽しく学び、1年生は名刺交換、3年生は校内案内を通して交流を深めました。学校中が笑顔に包まれ、温かな出会いにあふれた思い出深い初日となりました。
