【Experiments at KEK-PF #5】 End of experiment (Jun. 29, 2025, YI)

Students through the window has such a lovely smile。

We had a lot of luggage, so we checked the checklist before leaving anything behind. The last photo is the observation room on the top floor of Building 3?

【Experiments at KEK-PF #4】 Amulets during experiments (Jun. 29, 2025, YI)

During our stay in Tsukuba, there were amulets watching the experiment everywhere.

【Experiments at KEK-PF #3】 Meals during the experiment (Jun. 29, 2025, YI)

A total of 12 students participated in this experiment at KEK-PF: 4 M2 students, 6 M1 students, and 2 B4 students. This is the first place (Ichinoya) to eat during our stay in Tsukuba.

There are also Chinese, Italian and Yakiniku restaurants... one is from the previous photo...

Soba noodles for lunch. And famous snacks...

【Experiments at KEK-PF #2】 in-situ XAFS Experiment (Jun. 29, 2025, YI)

We conducted various in-situ XAFS experiments at BL-9C of KEK-PF for 72 hours starting at 21:00 on June 20th. Although the schedule was irregular, we proceeded with preparations for out experiments during the machine study just before our beamtime, and started with an in-situ CEY-XAFS experiment.

It had been a while since we last performed an in-situ CEY-XAFS experiment, but I was glad that we were able to carry out the experiment almost as planned. Next was a regular in-situ XAFS experiment, but...Who dropped the sample?

In-situ XAFS measurements were also carried out on the battery samples.

Although some experiments could not be carried out as planned, I am glad that we were able to obtain the desired data.

【Experiments at KEK-PF #1】 XAFS-CT Microscopy (Jun. 29, 2025, YI)

The XAFS-CT experiment was conducted at NW2A of KEK-PF for 72 hours from 9:00 on June 20th. A single shape-controlled Cu2O particle, which was partially reduced, was observed. We would like to thank Prof. Niwa of KEK-PF for his great help.

vNW2A has a sense of openness and it feels great!

The difficult thing about this experiment, which involves looking at a single particle, is that we cannot know whether the particle is in the desired state until we measure it.

We measured samples from Mr. U (M2) and Miss. Y (B4), and we hope that they both got good results.

【Member Photo 2025】 (Jun. 27, 2025, YI)

Member photo 2025. Total 25 students (1 Doctor, 16 Master, and 8 Bachelor).

【Setup of new in-situ XAFS cell】 (Jun. 16, 2025, YI)

We will be bringing the in situ XAFS cell for measurements at PF, but in the meantime, we have set up a new cell so that we can perform in situ XAFS measurements at the SR Center. Once the PID tuning of the temperature controller has been completed, we are ready to use it.

【Experiments at KEK-PF】 Imaging XAFS Experiments (Jun. 07, 2025, YI)

We are conducting imaging XAFS experiments at NW2A of KEK-PF. This time, we have three M2 students, three M1 students, and two B4 students.

【Student Experiments at SR Center】 (Jun. 5, 2025, YI)

The third-year student experiment (XAFS measurement) has begun again this year! The entire lab will be there to support it.

【Badminton Game】 (Mar. 31, 2025, YI)

Badminton game (first challenge) at the BKC gym.

There are a few members with club experience who are very good players, but everyone is good.

Let's have fun doing researches this year as we challenge new things together.

【Congratulations !】 (Mar. 22, 2025, YI)

The laboratory members graduated the Ritsumeikan University on March 22, 2025. Congratulations!

【Academic Conference】 Participated in the 2024 Science Festa on Quantum Beam (Mar. 21, 2025, YI)

We participated in the 2024 Science Festa on Quantum Beam held at Tsukuba International Conference Center on March 12-14. Three students (E san, F san, and H san) gave poster presentations.

All three students gave excellent presentations and I believe it was a valuable experience for them.

【Experiments at KEK-PF】 (Mar. 21, 2025, YI)

We conducted an experiment at BL-9C at KEK-PF (Tsukuba). This time, we were only allocated 24 h, so only three undergraduate students participated the experiment.
