中国雲南省の山地民ハニ族の儀礼や自給経済、コミュニティの存続について、現代的な文脈から研究しています。現在は京都北部の中山間地域に住み、人口減少社会における農山村の生活課題解決についても実践的に取り組んでいます。共著書に『スマイルズという会社を人類学する』（弘文堂）、『文化遺産と生きる』（臨川書店）など。
I conduct research on the rituals, subsistence economy, and continuity of community life among the Hani people, a highland ethnic group in Yunnan Province, China, within a contemporary context. Currently, I reside in a mountainous rural area in northern Kyoto and am also engaged in practical efforts to address the challenges of life in depopulated agricultural villages. My co-authored publications include Anthropologizing a Company Called Smiles (Kobundo) and Living with Cultural Heritage (Rinsen Shoten), among others.
