Our laboratory is studying mechatronic systems, especially micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS) toward smart MEMS. IC-compatible micromachining technology makes it possible to combine mechanical elements and electronic elements into mechatronics essentially. Micromachining can provide intelligent mechatronics integrated with mechanical devices and electronic devices. We focus on distributed MEMS in order to coordinate microdevices supplied with batch-processing technology into a system.
Please imagine that a large number of artificial cells are organizing a system to accomplish complex tasks.
