(Japanese/English)

ITo prevent the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), Ritsumeikan University currently prohibits entry to all its campuses and the Ritsumeikan Libraries are closed. However, for graduate students who are about to submit their dissertations, we consider library materials to be essential resources. It has also been recognized that the same may be said for undergraduate students planning to submit their graduate theses in the spring semester. In light of this, the library has decided to send requested library materials to the following students by post for a limited time until the end of July.*
Under normal circumstances, we would like to provide this service to all users while the university is closed, but as we have been forced to downsize our work activities, this time the service will be applied to users for whom it holds the most urgency.

*This service will only continue while the campus is closed and will be terminated once the campus opens and the library returns to work as usual. Please understand that if the situation surrounding COVID-19 becomes worse, this service may be reduced or interrupted.

  • Eligible Students:
Graduate students scheduled to submit their dissertations during the AY 2020 spring semester. (Please note that no other graduate students are eligible for this service.)
+ [As of April 28 (Tues) the scope of eligible students has increased]
Undergraduate students scheduled to submit their thesis during the AY 2020 spring semester. (Please note that no other undergraduate students are eligible for this service.)
  • Materials that can be borrowed:
Materials owned by Ritsumeikan University Library (Kaichiro Hirai Memorial Library, Shugakukan Research Library, Humanities and Social Sciences Reference Room, Media Center, Media Library, OIC Library, and Suzaku Research Library)
  • Number of materials that can be sent: 10 books per application
*You cannot borrow more than the lending terms (100 books for graduate and 20 books for undergraduate students) allow.
*We will contact you again if we cannot secure an item due to it being missing or unavailable for other reasons.
  • Shipping Method: Yu-Pack – scheduled method (postage paid by the university.)
In the case that loaned materials come from multiple campuses, they will be sent separately from relevant campuses.
  • How to Return Books:
If the library is not open when you are ready to return borrowed items, please send them to the following address regardless of your campus, using a "Yu-Pack (cash on delivery)" (postage paid by the university) from the post office or one of the convenience stores that handles Yu-Packs listed in the URL below.
Convenience stores that handle Yu-Packs: (Japanese only)
