情報理工学の魅力・面白さとは、どのような点にあると思われますか?
In the last 50 years, since the first computer was born, computer systems greatly improve humans’ life quality and provide convenience. It is interesting to study how millions of bits which are combined by only ‘0s’ and ‘1s’ work together to implement variable functions. The research on Information Science and Engineering is still only the tip of iceberg. So Information Science and Engineering is a potentialy rewarding subject for students, professors, and researchers.
卒業後、情報理工学部で学んだことはどのように役立つでしょうか?
Students who have graduated from the College of Information Science and Engineering will be able to use at least one programming language to program and a wide variety of common tools. In addition, they will have the ability to quickly accept, learn, and grasp new knowledge (eg. new programing languages, new systems and new tools etc.). At the same time, they will have the experience to solve new problems by working with others and to organize others in a team to discover and develop new projects.
これから入学する学生に、どんなことを期待されますか?どう成長してもらいたいですか?
I hope new students are curious to know more and have positive ideas when they meet difficulties in their life, research and studies. I would also like to see them improve themselves a lot not only in knowledge but also in dealing with practical matters relating to their lives during their time at the university. At the same time, I hope they can find a lot of true friends.
今、注目している技術・テクノロジーについて教えてください
Recently, I have been interested in deep learning technology. It has become one of humanity’s greatest inventions since it was proposed a few years ago. It is also a milestone of artificial intelligence improvement. Nowadays, based on deep learning technology, a lot of useful applications have been developed, for example, human facial recognition, machine translation, voice recognition, and robotics etc.
