Research Topic
My research specializes in fostering Critical Thinking (CT) in English language education. I specifically explore “friction,” that is, cognitive and emotional conflicts arising in collaborative learning, not as obstacles, but as catalysts for deep, proactive learning. My recent work focuses on developing the reflective model for teacher education and investigating how ICT including Generative AI can be integrated into collaborative tasks to enhance students’ reflective and critical thinking skills.
We often view disagreement or awkwardness in learning as negative. However, my research redefines these as “friction,” a powerful driver for intellectual growth. By engaging with these conflicts rather than seeking easy answers, you experience the intellectual excitement of questioning assumptions. Co-constructing solutions with others, including AI, transforms this “friction” into a profound learning experience, equipping you with genuine critical thinking skills that surface-level learning could not provide.
