Educational Features

Collaboration with Ritsumeikan University and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU)

In the second and third years of high school, we offer a full range of elective courses in cooperation with universities. In addition to the Exploration of Knowledge Program (School of Policy Science), Introduction to Law (School of Law), and Media Creation (School of Image Arts and Sciences and School of Industrial and Social Sciences), there are also courses offered in cooperation with the Faculty of Letters, the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences, creating an environment where students can receive specialized education at a university while still enrolled in high school.

In addition, one of the educational programs that Ritsumeikan Academy is particularly focusing on is "pre-enrollment education" for students who will enter Ritsumeikan University through the internal recommendation system. This program enables students to participate in lessons taught by university professors as a zero-year university student, helping them determine the course of study they wish to pursue. In the final term of their third year, students have the potential to take bridge lessons that can extend into actual university classes once they enter university. This program develops leaders in various fields, both regular and extra-curricular.

Career Guidance

For junior high school students, we offer work experience and visiting lectures by young researchers from RARA (Ritsumeikan Advanced Research Academy), while for high school students, we provide opportunities to interact with university faculty and undergraduate students, as well as lectures for working adults. This is an opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of university study and research and to consider their future prospects. The hosts of work experience programs and lecturers of courses for working adults cover a wide range of fields, and this is a unique characteristic of Ritsumeikan, which has a strong network built up over a long history in various fields.
(※)RARA…Ritsumeikan Advanced Research Academy

RARA is a gathering of core researchers who are expected to demonstrate leadership in establishing Ritsumeikan University as a leading and advanced research center. RARA-based researchers (RARA Fellows) serve as core researchers with the aim to involve other researchers in conceiving, planning, and leading advanced research. Ritsumeikan Junior and Senior High School has prepared a number of programs to stimulate the inquisitive spirit of students, including lectures by RARA fellows.
