Ritsumeikan Junior and Senior High School

Founded in 1905, Ritsumeikan Junior and Senior High School will celebrate its 120th anniversary in 2025. Building on our proud tradition, we have continually nurtured students who embody the qualities and aspirations demanded by the times—individuals who create new values and contribute meaningfully to the future.

Our school is distinguished by numerous initiatives, including being designated as a Super Science High School (SSH) for an unprecedented 24 consecutive years, a recognition of our commitment to advanced science education. We also maintain partnerships with 18 partner schools including institutions in Sweden, offering students rich opportunities for cross-cultural exchange. Additionally, our students take active leadership roles in a variety of extra-curricular activities such as the cultural festival, club activities, and school study trips. These experiences are among the hallmarks of a Ritsumeikan education.

This year, we are taking another step forward by establishing a next-generation multipurpose lab (tentative name) to further promote STEAM education and provide an enriched environment for inquiry-based learning.

Looking ahead, we will continue to support the individual growth of each student by leveraging the full strength of the Ritsumeikan network - a diverse and globally engaged academic community that includes Ritsumeikan Primary School, other affiliated schools, Ritsumeikan University, and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University.
